Vector control strategy for Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games: Main Media Center as an example

Abstract: In 2022, the Winter Olympic Games was first held in Beijing, China. To ensure that the key areas of the Winter Olympic Games were not affected by vectors and to minimize the risk of vector-borne diseases, the density of vectors in the key areas of the Winter Olympic Games and the cities where they are located should be effectively controlled. This paper focuses on the vector control strategy and working mechanism during Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games, and discusses the control model, risk assessment, inter-sectoral coordination, publicity and training, hazard monitoring, control technology, supervision and inspection, and emergency response with Main Media Center as an example. The vector density was effectively controlled during the Winter Olympic Games, no plague and other vector-borne diseases occurred, and there were no incidents of vector-borne hazards. The vector control model, technical measures, and working mechanism formed during the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympic Games were verified and deepened in the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games, which can be used as a guidance for vector control in similar large-scale activities in the future.

摘要: 北京2022年冬季奥林匹克运动会(冬奥会)是中国历史上第一次举办冬季奥运会,为保证冬奥会重点区域不受病媒生物危害影响,将媒介生物传染病发生风险降至最低,需有效控制冬奥会重点区域及所在城市的病媒生物密度。该文围绕北京2022年冬奥会病媒生物防制策略与工作机制,以主媒体中心为例,从保障模式、风险评估、部门协调、宣传培训、危害监测、防制技术、督导检查、应急处置等角度进行论述。冬奥会保障期间病媒生物密度得到有效控制,未发生涉奥鼠疫等媒介生物传染病,未发生涉奥病媒生物危害事件,北京2008年夏季奥运会形成的病媒防制模式、技术措施和工作机制在北京2022年冬奥会获得成功验证与深化发展,对今后类似大型活动的病媒生物保障工作具有指导意义。
