Abstract: Objective To know the toxic effects of 3% Keyixing powder against Reticulitermes speratus so as to provide the theoretical basis for developing alternative termiticides of Mirex.Methods(1)Oral toxicity.Keyixing powder was mixed with pine wood powder as the demanded ratio,then put into petri dish padded moistened sands and with 50 workers of Reticulitermes speratus.The mortality of tested termites was recorded every 24 h.(2) Transferring toxicity.Termite population with the different ratios individuals treated by 3% Keyixing powder was reared in laboratory,and their survival time were recorded.Results Keyixing powder had higher stomach toxicity against Reticulitermes speratus.The LC50 was 56.1 mg/L at 10 d after treatment.Meanwhile,the chemical of Keyixing could be transferred by termite individuals in tested population.When 1 to 9 percent of individuals were treated by Keyixing powder,these treated individuals could cause 400 to 900 individuals death.Conclusion Keyixing powder could be used as the alternative of Mirex for termite control.
