Abstract: The law of day and night action of Suncus murinus was investig ated in some barracks on the outskirt of Guang zhou with nine—well powered—spots method from March to December in 1991. It was demon strated that 7.13 spots were stepped on every hour. From 6 p, m to 8 a, m the positive number accounted for 99.56% of all the positive spots, in which 61.84% before midnight and the rest after that. there were two peaks of night action. One was from 20 to 22 o'clock with little human interference in office and kitchen whilst 22 to 24 o'clock with a rather little move in dormitory. Another peak was from 2 to 4 o'clock in all three places. As far as the peaks in different month were concerned. The first peak in March and December was form 2o to 22 o'clock, June 22 to 24. The second peak in March, June and September was from 2 to 4 o'clock, December 4 to 6. In all the places and different time mentioned above, the freuency of Suncus muricus was as follows respectively: office>kitchen>chicken farm>dormitory; Sep>Jun>Mar>Dec. The situation of day and night action of Suncus murinus was rather infuerced by Rattus nocvegicus.
