Abstract: The investigation on the laboratory white rat and its contact infected with EHF (Epidemic Hemorragic Fever) was carried out from February to June in 1990 in Guang zhou. The speciments from 423 white rats which from 25 institutions were tested with EHFV antigen. The result showed that the positive rate was 11.8%, and positive rate with EHFV antibody was 12.5%, the total infectious rate was 12.0%. A strain of EHF virus was isolated from the lung tissure of 11 EHFV Antigen positive white rats. 9 Rattus norvegicus were caught from surrounding area of breeding laboratories from which the infectious rate of 22.2% were founded. 89 speciments from contacts —the person who get in touch with laboratory white rat from 21 institutions, its positive rate were 19.1%, and the rate of incidence was 6.7%, in which the laboratory workers such as technician and so on infected with EHF are 7 persons, the rate of whose infection was 14.6%, the rate of incidence was 8.3%, the breeder who worked at breeding side, that the rate of whose infection was 4.8%. A strain of EHF virus was isolated from three patients's serum.
