Abstract: The distribution, behavior charater and control measure of urban remnant rodents are synthetically analysed by widespreadly and intensively investigating in the dwelling house, the hotels of various area, the modern buildings and other systems as well as the connected areas where rodent free level was attained after large-seale rodent control campaign and appraisal showed the result of low rodent density had been maintained for one year. The follwing are found.1. The main species of remnant rodent in urban dwelling house of Shandhai recently is house mouse(Mus muscutus L.). The rodents move about and look for food were mainly in the kitchen.2. The distribution and species combination of the remnant rodents are close relevant to the environmental character.3. It is pointed out that the special methods should be taken to counter the remnant rodents according to their changing habit and behavior. A.nd another idea ought to be emphasized that rodent control needs cooperation of whole society.
