Brief introduction of pulsed-field gel electrophoresis and its application in bacterial molecular typing

Abstract: At present, there are many methods for bacterial molecular typing. Pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) is widely used as the“gold standard”for bacterial molecular typing due to its good repeatability and high resolution. Using PFGE for bacterial molecular typing and bacterial type differentiation, we can effectively monitor diseases, trace the source of infection, specify the route of infection, and determine the genetic characteristics of bacteria, thus providing a molecular biological basis for the prevention and control of bacterial diseases.

摘要: 目前可用于细菌分子分型的方法较多,脉冲场凝胶电泳(PFGE)技术以其重复性好、分辨力强的优势被作为细菌分子分型的“金标准”广泛应用;利用PFGE技术对细菌进行分型并分析细菌间分型结果的差异,可以有效地对疾病进行监测,追溯疾病的感染来源,明确感染途径,追溯其遗传特征,为细菌性疾病的预防与控制提供分子生物学证据.
