Observation on the Effectiveness of Botulin c in Rodent Control

C型肉毒梭菌毒素灭家鼠效果观察

Abstract: In Nov.and Dec.1994,the authors made an observation on the effectiveness of Botulin Type C in rodent control for Rattus flavepectus and Rattus norvegicus in Changsha,Zongyang County.Both laboratory and field tests were done.A minium lethal dose per kg weight of rat was obtained by enema.For Rattus flavipectus the min.lethal dose was 64000 MU and for Rattus norvegicus the dose was 32 000 MU.0.5% Botulin Type C rice bait was tested respectively.The initial and second feeding indexes of 0.75 and 0.54 for R.f.and the indexes of 0.86 and 0.62 for R.n.Then we made a comparision of the effectiveness between Botulin Type C and Bromadiolone,both in rice baits.The test showed that in cage method the killing rate for Botulin Type C was 18.08% and in powdered spots method the rate was 25.96%.For Bromadiolone the killing rate in cage method reached 75.66% while with powderd spots method it arrived at 73.95%.A significant difference was found(P<0.01).With the above we came to the conclusion that Botulin Type C was not suitable for rodents control espcirally.for the two Rattus species in some way.

摘要: 作者于1994年11~12月在安徽省枞阳县长沙乡,用C型肉毒梭菌毒素对黄胸鼠和褐家鼠进行实验室和现场灭鼠效果观察。用灌胃法测定对黄胸鼠最小致死剂量为64000MU/kg体重,对褐家鼠为32000MU/kg体重。0.5%C型肉毒梭菌毒素大米毒饵,初遇和再遇适口性摄食系数褐家鼠为0.86和0.62;黄胸鼠为0.75和0.54.0.5%C型肉毒梭菌毒素现场灭效,鼠笼法灭鼠率为18.05%,粉迹法为25.96%;0.005%溴敌隆毒饵灭鼠率鼠笼法为75.66%,粉迹法调查为77.95%:两者差别非常显著(P<0.01).表明C型肉毒梭菌毒素对黄胸鼠和褐家鼠毒力较小。
