An investigation of the resistance of Blattella germanica to commonly used insecticides in Nanyang, Henan province, China

Abstract: Objective To investigate the resistance of Blattella germanica to five commonly used insecticides in the urban area of Nanyang, Henan province, China, and to provide a basis for rational use of insecticides in B. germanica control. Methods The field population of B. germanica was collected from farmers’ markets, restaurants, hotels, supermarkets, and hospitals in Nanyang, and brought back to the laboratory for rearing until the F1 generation. The median knockdown time, knockdown rate, and resistance ratio of the insecticides were determined by the residual film method recommended by WHO, and their resistance was evaluated. Results The field population of B. germanica in Nanyang developed varying degrees of resistance to deltamethrin, beta-cypermethrin, DDVP, temephos, and fenobucarb, with resistance ratios of 12.03, 2.14, 4.18, 247.23, and 3.85, respectively. Conclusion The field population of B. germanica in Nanyang has high resistance to deltamethrin and temephos. Comprehensive control methods and rational use of insecticides are recommended to inhibit and delay the development of insecticide resistance of B. germanica.

摘要: 目的 了解河南省南阳市城区德国小蠊对5种常用杀虫剂的抗药性,为科学、合理用药提供理论依据。方法 从南阳市的农贸市场、餐饮场所、宾馆、超市及医院采集德国小蠊野外种群带回实验室饲养至F1代,采用世界卫生组织推荐的药膜法,测定杀虫剂的半数击倒时间、击倒率及抗性倍数,评价其抗药性情况。结果 南阳市德国小蠊野外种群对溴氰菊酯、高效氯氰菊酯、敌敌畏、双硫磷、仲丁威产生了不同程度的抗药性,抗性倍数分别为12.03、2.14、4.18、247.23和3.85倍。结论 南阳市德国小蠊野外种群对溴氰菊酯和双硫磷抗性较高,建议采用综合防制方法、合理用药,抑制和延缓德国小蠊抗药性的发展。
